The Moose Creek Recreation Association has been on going for over 35 years now and some of the members are second and third generation Moose Creek families along with newcomers to the village. We are always interested in new ideas, new helpful tips and new pairs of hands to help out. Take a look at some of the upcoming projects…if you can lend a hand or would like to bring your fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the REC, come out to a monthly meeting ...we’d be happy to have you join

About Us

The 30 plus volunteers of the MCRA work on several committees to provide recreational activities and events in Moose Creek.

The Rec committee runs the community hall operations that house the dance hall/bar, the Rec Room and the Moose Creek Seniors Club. Favorite events include Winter Carnival, Summerfest and the Art Buchanan 3-Pitch Tournament. Fund raising is on-going to support the maintenance and operation of our Community Hall.

The Pool Committee runs fully accredited Red Cross and Royal Life Saving swim programs along with health and fitness programs for adults and a competitive swim team. The pool employs four full time high school, college and university students to facilitate the safe and interactive fun.

Moose Creek Minor Ball committee is nearing the end of a multi-year mega project to refit the two ball diamonds at the park bringing baseball, softball and slo-pitch back to the area. With an army of volunteer coaches, scorekeepers and umpires they run a full minor ball program, mixed and mens leagues and several tournaments throughout the season. With the help of a Trillium Foundation grant the park lights can be seen from all corners of the village.

The Playground committee has also enjoyed the help of a Trillium Foundation grant and the generous support of the community at large to replace the playground apparatus with safe structures for all to enjoy.

Working together, these committees represent Moose Creek alongside our peers from Crysler, Berwick, Monkland, Avonmore and Finch on the Amalgamated Recreation Committee of North Stormont Township.
